I know what you mean. I used to be the same way. Luckily, it gets better as time passes, or I should say you learn to have more self control over time.

    Organized religions …
Organized religions in general, in my opinion, are dying forms”, he says. “They were all very important when we didn’t know why the sun moved, why weather changed, why hurricanes occurred, or volcanoes happened”, he continues. “Modern religion is the end trail of modern mythology. But there are people who interpret the Bible literally. Literally! I choose not to believe that’s the way. And that’s what makes America cool, you know? Bruce Willis

Its not that God is …
Its not that God is cruel, its the choices we make to change ourselves. This cowardly thing comes from us. God didn’t ‘give’ it it to us, we brought it amongst ourselves because of well..low self esteem, or any other reason. God does exist and he already gave us life, so we need to live life the best we can. this anxiety you can overcome.High self esteem always works and exercise.take your mind off bad thoughts, and just notice that everyone is just like you,see the you or God in them and everyone

    I have SA and I …
I have SA and I break out in this red rash on my chest, up my neck, and down my arms when I get really anxious. It looks like I’m blushing but it is blotchy and red. IT SUCKS! I think I could deal with my SA a lot better if I didn’t have that rash that happens.

  16. dosomethin888 Says:

Well, I think it is …
Well, I think it is different for everyone. I’m okay in social situations if it is really loud. But quiet, bright rooms freak the out of me and I will get major anxiety. That makes me anxious and many other situations. Its different for everyone because everyone is different.

  17. popularscience192 Says:

    Exactly like me. I …
Exactly like me. I still feel really lonely because I have no friends or girlfriend.

In my opinion social anxiety is a cowardly thing that God has created. Its probably the worst thing to give to a person. Why?

All that matters in life is family, friends, and love. How the can you do this with social anxiety? It prevents you from living your life.

I wonder if God really exists….because if he is real, I wonder why he can be so cruel?

  18. ventroquilation Says:

    My social phobia …

  20. GummyBearMob Says:

    You don’t have …
You don’t have general social phobia then..you have a specific issue within social anxiety.
mild to severe. Mild = someone who has specific situations that bring up anxiety like a party or needing to give a presentation whereas severe would be anxiety from ANY social situation. This can be debilitating & affect one’s life dramatically causing some not to go to college or go out to stores or want to be around people at all..

I’ve had it all my life. :/

But I just always become really anxious and scared when I go someplace where there might be interaction between others. Plus, if there are many people (such as school, work, etc., I fear that everyone will be thinking bad things about me, and possibly hate me for it.

I’ll always have it, but it’s been improving each year. :)

  22. FlashFizz Says:

    What this guy is …
What this guy is talking about doesn’t sound like social phobia to me. Perhaps he’s using a very broad definition of social phobia.

I have no problem being in crowded areas like a shopping center because no one there would walk up to you and start asking personal questions as you would experience at a party or convention–REAL social situations!

If you’re looking for treatment, the Stanford Psychology Department is doing a study on Social Anxiety Disorder and offering free therapy.

Most people develop it in their teens (high school years) or at least thats where I developed mine. Thankfully my SP is mild, and I can function normally most of the time. But my social relationships with be soooo much better if I could totally get rid of it. It gets the worst when I’m in my car, bloody sucks.
