How do I really choose the best career path for me? Can I work directly with people with social phobia?

I am a single man, 42 years old with two teenagers and a mortgage. I have been avoidinga real education because I guess I never realized the value of it and figured I would always work with my hands and could gain skill through on the job experience. I have social phobia and have been really depressed lately and need to get back on my feet somehow. I want to become a professional at something like my peers all seem to have done.

i have depression and social phobia 2…its really hard starting a career so late in life…and with those problems!

maybe (if u want to help people) u could volunteer or work at a helpline!…then u wouldn’t have to be in the same room as the person…but u could help them with their problems…

u know its never too late tho!…u could still become a plumber or electrician or carpenter…u need to become an apprentice first!
