I have Social Anxiety and this is a video of my experiences. At the end there are details of useful websites. If you listen carefully you might hear our dog wining and trying to get on my lap.

I’m the same way. I … I’m the same way. I wanted to be in the popluar crowd. What I realized when I got tired of trying to fit in was how much fun I had as a kid being myself and not caring about what other people thought about me. I have bad social anxiety. Had it since 5th grade. I have gotten so tired of it that I contemplated suicide. But since I went to the doctor I now know that I’m not the only one with this illness. Which makes me feel really good.
I totally respect … I totally respect you, saying how you feel, and putting a face. You deserved the best, because you are helping other people.God luck!!!
Can people who have … Can people who have severe social anxiety enjoy being in relationships with the opposite sex? I know I wouldn’t, that’s why I’m 33 and still single.
Good to put a face … Good to put a face to the name buddy, saw your link posted on a certain forum. Good video too, thanks for sharing your experiences.
i never make eye … i never make eye contact =/ i get really awkward too when im around people. my girlfriend just broke up with me because to her ive gotten “shy”, its getting worse.
I have a mild case … I have a mild case of SA, I have friends, but yeah I hate silence, but that’s about it. I am just think negatively, that’s the heart of it, Imo ‘fake it till you make it’ and like this guy, you got to face your fears, you might have to take it slowly, but always move forward. Just ignore negative thoughts, everyone has them, dont worry, eventually u will get better. Like i’ve dyed my hair and theres a girl who likes me And I am also not going to ask her out cause im not interested haha
Unless someone … Unless someone actually has social anxiety, I don’t think they can relate to us. I have a family and a great career but also deal with the same issues. Hopefully one of us can get rid of this:)
dude i am EXACLY … dude i am EXACLY the same way.i hat to socialize and avoid ANY large groups of people.i have no friends at all and this makes me depressed.i used to cut myself and all that crap and i still hate to socialize
You present … You present yourself well, if you were on a different topic I would never suspect you have SA.
I am absolutely terrified of socializing, and am paralyzed when confronted, which then makes me twice as self conscious and I start stuttering and get so concerned about how I am being viewed by others that I just fog up and zone out it, then stumble through the conversation until the other person is weired out and escapes at first chance.
I used to be completely careless and was a class clown!
I’m not sure … I’m not sure whether I have SA or not. I haven’t had any friends for the past three years, and the last time I had a conversation with someone my own age (in real life) was in January. Social interactions frighten me.
Thanks for this … Thanks for this video, I struggle with social anxiety as well, at work, everyone thinks I’m wierd and creepy because I can’t make eye contact or small talk. I’m glad you talked about social anxiety groups, I’ll have to try one sometime.
one of the best … one of the best things to do is learning deep relaxation before forth coming events, and the best relaxation technique to do so is Yoga Nidra, it helps with all sorts of nervousness, fear and stress related issues by way of balancing and harmonising both brain hemispheres as well as relaxing the body perfectly. Its always available on ebay, look for the title
“Yoga Nidra total relaxation no more tension”
For the record, … For the record, your teeth aren’t yellow. As long as you keep doing what you’re doing right with your teeth, you can stop worrying about that. Smile more it makes other people comfortable with you. (I’m not saying you smile too little-don’t worry )
Nice vid. I am trying to sort out my problems in this area too : one good bit of advice I’ve had is whenever I’m talking to someone I should focus on how I can make them more comfortable because everyone gets nervous when talking to a stranger.
