Alternatives to antidepressants to treat social anxiety disorder?

Are there any alternative medications to antidepressants to treat social anxiety disorder? Preferably non prescription.

You can try St. Johns Wart, but this reduces the effectiveness of the birth control pill. Talk to a doctor about other options.

    Sometimes anti-anxiety medications and benzodiazepines are used, but they can be pretty addictive and I personally would avoid them. Cognitive behavioural therapy is also supposed to be really good for anxiety disorders.
