    I did a great deal …
I did a great deal of research.

The people I was addressing were the ones that felt medication is bad, regardless of the circumstances, and claiming that anxiety disorders are simply a fairy tale.

I do engage in CBT. It has been very effective, but it is not enough for the anxiety.

Tthere is one fact that I did leave out. I also have PTSD; it is severe and chronic. It will probably never go away, but through CBT I have a tight rein on it.

    @iamblackthorne Or …
@iamblackthorne Or perhaps you just haven’t done a lot of research. CBT has effectively helped a lot of people with GAD, and they have long term remission, actually around 50%, a great statistic, which is why many people say not to so casually push drugs. Of course if this doesn’t work this SSRIs and SNRIs may be used as a first line with the help of Busparine or Benzos. Because of the high likely hood of Gad to be co-morbid (90%) it’s very hard to treat, and diagnosis.

    I have enough …
I have enough disorders in my life I’ve just realized I’ve had this and haven’t been medicated for it I’ve not taken meds for bipolar since I keep having weird reactions like I feel sick when I take any pills =/

    I have GAD and I …
I have GAD and I have been on 0.5mg of klonopin daily for 3 months and my life improved. I still cant believed how much I suffered before I started my medication, Im just happy I found the right one that words best for me. I tried everything besides medication for years but klonopin is the 1st thing that ever made the GAD disapear like POOF! Unbelieveable. I hope I can get off of it someday and live without meds, that is my goal but for now Im enjoying the life that I thought was forever tainted

Any of you who say …
Any of you who say this is wrong, that I should be still living in my freaking pajamas & stuck within the four walls of my home… I say to you… DROP DEAD.

    You know NOTHING.

  6. iamblackthorne Says:

    Some made the …
Some made the symptoms worse. Then, after trying & trying, I found one that let me feel “normal” feelings & be able to LIVE. Guess what? I can go to the grocery store now. I can get up in the morning & look forward to the day. This stuff does not make me druggy… it does not stop sadness when something goes wrong, it does not keep me from being angry when insulted, it does not keep me from feeling “regular” emotions.

  7. iamblackthorne Says:

    It was a constant …
It was a constant battle to fight the anxiety that had me vomiting, getting diarrhea, severe headaches & chest pains every time I had to go to the grocery store or answer the door. You know, the stuff you “normal” people get to do every day without thinking about it. I didn’t want to take medicine. But when it got to the point that I was contemplating suicide (& I had never, ever been suicidal until that time) I finally broke down & got medicine. Some of the drugs I had to try made me numb..

  8. iamblackthorne Says:

    I think the people …
I think the people who are spouting about the ineffectiveness of drugs don’t know anything. I don’t like the pharmaceutical companies… I think they are money-grubbing pigs. I don’t like doctors who order medicine for every little thing. I avoided medication for years… I went through advanced depth therapy for years. I tried various methods to get it under control. I changed my life so that there was less stress. With my best efforts, it did get better. But, it was not good enough.

  9. seajist Says:

    anxiety doesnt have …
anxiety doesnt have to have an underlying cause, anxiety can be part of one’s personality genetically. why do you think some are more outgoing than others? drugs dont cure anything, but they do a good job at masking it

My dr. prescribed me zoloft for my anxiety but when I read the side effects and heard from my aunt she gain alot of weight with that I decided never to take it.

  11. autumngrief Says:

    Drugs do absolutely …
Drugs do absolutely nothing to correct the root CAUSE of anxiety and depression..they merely mask the symptoms and cause people to become dependent on them. If you are depressed, or have anxiety, you need to FIGURE OUT WHY, and work those problems out. There are always psychological reasons for the manifestation of symptoms.

  12. ONLY1BLAZE Says:

    why am i surprised …
why am i surprised that this guy is pushing the drugs?! that’s all doctors know how to do– without them they’d be out of business.

there are alternatives to taking drugs & your body will thank you for it

  13. PornFlakes21 Says:

I tried to get help …
I tried to get help, and they tried to put me on anti-depressents. I am not depressed, I have god anxiety all the time and it makes me yell and have outburts! I constinatly worry about everything that I have to about it.

eat shit, get your brain DIS-EASED, this stuff DOES NOT TREAT ANYTHING, you feel better, but you are getting TRANQUILIZED, when your liver gets blocked (IT SENDS FOOD TO THE BRAIN!) THEN YOUR GLANDS EITHER STOP WORKING PROPERLY OR SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY, I ASK A QUESTION WHAT CAUSES THE LOW SEROTONIN IN THE BRAIN A A A ? IF DOCTORS LIKE THIS ONE WOULD ACTUALLY TREAT ANYTHING THERE WOULD BE LESS DOCTORS AROUND, THEN THERE IS MERCURY IN THOSE TOOTH FILLING YOU HAVE, IT IS KILLING YOU!!!
