Extreme anxiety
This is a video i made while i was having an anxiety attack. I asked a few questions and im looking for some people to give me some advice on what i said an how to deal with it.

Hey bro, I suffer …
Hey bro, I suffer from severe anxiety too….problem with Alprozalam (Xanax) and other Benzo’s is that they can be highly addictive, and going off of them can intensify attacks.
Also, I’m a recovering alcoholic….attacks were MUCH worse when immersed in my addiction, not sure if you think you have a drinking problem (but given that you have PSD, u might) but if you do seek some help for that as well. I am also Bi-Polar, and hated Paxil but love my new Effexor and Seroquel combo. Good Luck!

You need a antidepressant. There is a core reason for your anxiety. Taking ativan only treat the symptom at that moment. You need to have a psychiatrist treat the cause not just the symptom.

when i had my first …
when i had my first panic attack’ it felt like my heart stopped for 4 seconds’ then start.then stopped’ and so on……then when i phoned the ambulance’ i felt alright’ i think it is when you think your going to have even a lil bit; u start gettin panic atatcks. have u ever felt the syptom’ like you cant sallow at night ‘ and that its hard to catch your breath’ and you have to have like 6 gos of catching it ?

Matt, I didn’t think you were faking it when I first posted. You cleared up that your reply was just ’sarcastic’.
I would be the last person to say an anxiety sufferer can make it go away with their ‘mind’. You can’t. But you can be PATIENT and REASSURE yourself while going through it. The worst thing is to beat yourself up. Thats all I was trying to say. But said it badly SORRY.
I also have anxiety & PTSD. I also know the accusations & putdowns. I know anger too. I support your statements

Dude you are not alone man, the way how i deal with it when i’m not working is by coloring books… sounds stupid but when i color it takes a serious amount of anxiety away.. and yeah man, i know that crashing plane feeling your talking about, i thought i was gonna die when i had my first one..

I didnt say you were faking it. I was just sharing what worked for me..I went through eight years of (literally) with panic attacks. It’s been twenty years since suffering with them. If I offended you,then I appoligize. The nightmare analogy was in my final days, before breaking free. It wasn’t easy, to say the least.

i feel the exact same way, i feel great in the mournings then further into the day i feel like and when i drink i feel better to. when i don’t think about how i feel i feel good but when theres nothin to keep me accupied i feel bad. so your not alone

Over-ride(force) …
Over-ride(force) the “mode” of anxiety, then as it confronts you, ease away..If it goes through you , even better…This helps build resistence, and the more times you do this, the less impact the shockwaves have, until you shake then off, like a child, awekening in the middle of the night trembling from a nightmare..The child builds resistence to the following nightmare, saying to himself”go back to sleep”, It was “only” a bad dream..He over-rides the anxiety mode..This is the healing process.

hey man.. the benzo’s just mask the problem.. i actually developed social anxiety disorder from taking them so i could fall asleep.. drinking does the same bc its a downer like the klonapin and xanax in time those meds will make it worse.. you should get behavior therapy it works for alot of people.

The thing to …
The thing to realise about panic & anxiety is that it is YOUR BODY (as a vehicle) & not YOU that is having it. Its a PHYSIOLOGICAL thing, just like if you got really low blood sugar. Be patient with your body when it is undergoing this. YOU are the part with unique & privileged AWARENESS of the BODILY STATE. YOU can use the FACTUAL KNOWLEDGE accumulated in memory regions of your brain, including the knowledge that anxiety is physiological & REASSURE the flight/fight part of your mind.

Hi Sorry to hear about the anxiety disorder, I understand, I have had a panic disorder for over 20 years and they still scare me, but they are a learned behavior I know they are, you have trained your body somehow to react to the bad sensations you get in your body, alcohol will help for the moment, but it will comeback to bite you later and make the anxiety worse. Trust me I have done it. What sucks is it’s a day by day thing, just remember it won’t kill you.

My last attack was 1990…..How would you like to go twenty years Matt without having another panic attack? Also, I haven’t drank alcohol since 94′,no cigarettes, but a ton of coffee….I love coffee…I love the anxious buzz it gives me.
Actually it’s the clarity…of perception…Thats all anything really is, anyhow…How you see it..

When you get drunk, you break the cycle and repetition of tedious insanity…Go ahead and binge for two weeks…or do something that will cause an interval of time long enough in between attacks so the attacks themselves will slowly lose their intensity and eventually dissolve..
For myself, it was working in a hectic kitchen, staying extremely busy, and drinking my face off… It worked .They become like trickles and I gently pulled away(flight) and said

God’s son! LOL! Drinking is the worst thing for anxiety. I suggest you read this book- Anxiety 101 Answers for anxiety. Seems to me you are stuck in the cycle of anxiety. I know how ya feel! Im slowly breaking the cycle and i feel SO much better! Its takin 8 months but im getting there!

Thanks but my anxiety is going away without the meds. You have had yours for 3 years? Have you gotten any better? My doctors said that benzodianzapines are just to help for awhile tell you can relax a little and get to the root of the problem. Do you go to therapy or anything?
