Anxiety attacks while Traveling.
An update on my trip to Portland, Oregon… Complete with panic attacks and car phobias! I had a great time though, and got to meet Craig Ferguson, which was probably the highlight of my year.

I sort of stumbled upon your video while looking for Portland videos. I suffer from panic/anxiety attacks too, and it’s comforting (in an odd way) to know that I’m not the only one out there (funny how this affliction makes you feel like you’re the only one suffering from it). Anyway, I can completely relate to what you said about traveling in someone else’s car. I’ve had agoraphobia for more than 10 years now, and it absolutely sucks. Talk about a prison with no walls.

Having defense …
Having defense mechanisms when you feel this feelings build is important for stopping the neurotic tumble I think. If you’re out in public and you feel the dominos start to fall you need something to provide immediate relief.
Something simple like pressing your thumb against your forefinger can help. A lucky charm you can grasp in your pocket can stop the cycle. Chewing a piece of gum, etc. I personally place a small scrap of paper between my thumb and forefinger that helps a lot.

I have the same …
I have the same problem, on trains, in cars (when Im not driving), especially in buses, in airport terminals right before boarding, in waiting lines in stores and other places where I feel like I cant just walk away if I’d wanted to. It’s because I’ve had panic attacks in places like this a couple of times when I was a kid, and now I’m basically worried about getting attacks when Im in these situations, which is also why I am gettnig them. Worrying about panic attacks gives you panic attacks.

I called 911 about 20 times in 2 weeks and went to the hosptital about 10 times. But the point is i was gonna recommend Zoloft (Sertraline) i havent had the worst attacks that feel like heart attacks in about a week and a half after 2 weeks of taking it. And i was having them daily or every other day. And meditation also helps it relaxes ur muscles and gives ur brain a few minutes rest , which when i do it i feel refreshed like ive had the best night sleep ever, its better than sleep .

Anxiety is worse …
Anxiety is worse than any illness I’ve ever had and I read Dr Claire Weekes book – ‘Peace from Nervous Suffering’ and I have just downloaded the book in audio format, which is great to listen to – opened my eyes to the condition and how it is stress related and is a control issue.
Need any help with it let me know and I’ll send anyone details from the book. Just let me know what you need and if I can I’ll send any help I think you may need.
All the best to Anxiety Sufferers!
