Is there anyone who has had a lowered sex drive due to anxiety/depression?

Im just wondering if there are other people out there who have noticed a huge reduction in sex drive due to anxiety/depression. I have had bad anxiety the last 12 years and for the last few years had mild depression. My sex drive is now non existent, im not sure has the anxiety killed it of or what. does chronic anxiety kill your sex drive completely, is there a way to get the sex drive back?

most people with anxiety and depressive disorders have sex drive issues, and that is mostly because they don’t get the help they need. Medications are part of the answer, the other part is therapy. If you don’t do both, you don’t get better.

Sure. It affects a lot of people that way.

Get more exercise – as that will help with anxiety and depression. Drugs can make the problem worse. 1 hour most days of the week will help you – even walking will work.

If you are on meds for the anxiety/depression, then that most certainly is the culprit. I have had that happen a few times, depending on which drug I was on.

But since it sounds like you are toughing it out without medication, the anxiety alone can be enough to change your sex drive because it is so overwhelming. This has on occasion happened to me when I was not taking anything, but it has come back.

I know that some people are opposed to medication, but because this is a chronic anxiety issue, some medications could be beneficial. For some people, certain medications can bring back your sex drive, and make you feel better in every aspect of life. Hope this helps a bit.
