how can i beat this depression and anxiety?
hey everyone..ok its a long story but i will cut it down. basically a couple of years ago i went through a stressful time and ended up having a kind of breakdown i guess. i developed bad generalised anxiety disorder..so bad i actually became agoraphobic ( cudnt leave my house) which then obviously became depression because i was trapped inside scared of everything. ok well now i have managed to pretty much nearly overcome the agoraphobia, i can go out now, i have a great bf, social life back and started back to work part time but i still have anxiety. like i will still worry over stupid things that wudnt bother other people and i cant take it anymore. will it ever go? will i ever be the same again? i have a life back but im still unhappy and anxious. its like i just go through the day to day motions now. i just want to be back to the old me. will it come in time? i guess i just need some hope that i will overcome it. im 24

any advice is very welcome.
you need to go on anti depressants. the will sort you out. so make an appointment soon as possible.

One of the best tools against depression is physical exercise. Any exercise is good, but if you really get to the point where you are sweating, your body will be producing endorphins and other chemicals that keep you uplifted. You can also get a blood analysis done to see if you are lacking any vital nutrients and/or hormones.

i agree with the first answer plus talking to someone unconnected helps,your dr will put you forward for counselling if you ask him.you WILL get better.x

well i think you have done great
some people never get over Agoraphobia so stop beating your self up
you are doing great but you need to hang in there
what kind of help are you getting from your Doctor, taking pills can help reduce your anxiety and help you get a good nights sleep.
doing excise as some one before me said will help a lot and thinking more positive will help.
no drinking Alcohol or shutting your self away from people

I am 16, and i have Bi-Polar Depression and bad anxiety, i have had them since i was 8 years old. Oviously you know that pot helps.. But i am not going there.. What keeps me alive is my girl, which really could be anyone who understands you, and she understands the hell out of me. Something that also helps me a ton is having good music on my I-pod, I geuss ill go a little in-depth.. I listen to Saetia, Circle Takes the Square, Pg. 99, Oh Sleeper, Orchid, Otep.. Anyway, Counceling has only hurt me, its makes my stress and axiety worst, but that might just be me.. I am currently on Zoloft, but i used to be on Wellbutrin, and Abilify. Those didnt help me at all, Zoloft is a miracle drug though. Acid trips are a bad idea when you have anxiety, same with coaine and meth and similiar things. Drinking isnt always the best approach either to "escape", because youll obviously end up with a head-ache, and thats no good when your head already hurts from stress.. I am already drinking myself to death and im 16.. Simple things to look forward too are essential to dealing with stress, like making plans for the weekend way ahead of time, and something as simple as keeping gum on you that gives you that 2 second high of "Oh, i have gum, i am going to have one". For me, i smoke half a pack a day, and that helps me (mentally of course, not physically). I hope this helps.
